Failed safety checks

If your vehicle fails a safety check, you need to make the repairs before you can renew registration. MIT Automotive can assist you with this as we are fully qualified Mechanical Repairers in Fyshwick. If you complete the repairs within 14 days and take the vehicle to be reassessed at the same AIS station - MIT Automotive, no extra inspection fees apply. If you repair the vehicle after the 14 day period ends, you need to pay another inspection fee.

What is included in the inspection

• wheels and tyres
• steering, suspension and braking systems
• seats and seatbelts
• light and reflectors
• windscreen and front and rear windows
• front wipers and washers
• overall structure
• identifying numbers - for example, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), chassis number, engine number
• other safety related items on the body, chassis or engine.
